Conduit Holdings Limited, the parent company of Bermuda-based multi-line reinsurer Conduit Re, has engaged Winfried Knust to support the expansion of its underwriting activities across credit, surety, political risk and mortgage reinsurance.
Knust has more than 30 years of experience in these specialist markets, covering credit, surety, political risk and mortgage reinsurance.
In his most recent role, he served as underwriting manager and head of Zurich operations at Navigators Re, overseeing a global team underwriting trade credit, surety and political risk business.
His previous appointments include senior underwriting positions at Aspen Re and Converium (SCOR), where he was responsible for developing and managing profitable credit reinsurance portfolios.
Conduit Re chief underwriting officer Stephen Postlewhite commented: “We are delighted to have the benefit of Winfried’s extensive industry expertise and experience in specialty reinsurance classes of business. This relationship will support our plans to selectively enhance our product appetite. Marc Bearman and our specialty team will work closely with Winfried to execute our underwriting strategy and identify attractive areas to diversify our portfolio.”
