ACES Specialty Insurance Company (ACES), a newly formed subsidiary of American Coastal Insurance Corporation (ACIC), the insurance holding company of American Coastal Insurance Company, has received a Certificate of Authority from the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions to conduct transactions in excess and surplus (E&S) lines.
ACIC initially plans to underwrite catastrophe-exposed commercial E&S property business through ACES in Florida, Texas, and South Carolina, building on AmCoastal’s experience in coastal commercial property.
The new insurer expects to begin writing business on or about 1 December, 2026, subject to customary regulatory, rating agency, and other operational requirements.
Brad Martz, President and Chief Executive Officer, ACIC, commented, “Receiving ACES’s Certificate of Authority is an important milestone for American Coastal and marks the start of a bold new chapter for our organization’s long-term strategy. With ACES, we can now serve a much wider range of commercial property risks in markets we know well.
“We built this platform along with our in-house managing general agency, Skyway Underwriters, carefully and with purpose, and we’re excited to put it to work for our agents, policyholders, and shareholders.”
