Global reinsurer Munich Re has appointed Laura Coppola as Head of Underwriting Management, US, Binding Authorities at Munich Re Specialty, North America (MRS-NA).
In her new role, Coppola will lead a team of US-based underwriting managers who, along with members of the Binding Authorities managed underwriting team in London, are responsible for the overseeing and underwriting performance of MRS-NA’s delegated portfolio.
Additionally, she will play a key role in shaping the underwriting strategy and future investments, strengthen cover-holder relationships, and support business growth initiatives.
Coppola has over three decades of industry experience, most recently she served as the Executive Vice President at Falcon Risk Services.
Prior to this, she was the Chief Underwriting Officer for QBE North America, and spent nearly three years with Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

At Swiss Re CorSo, Coppola served as the Managing Director, Global Head of FINPRO, Head of Casualty NA; and as Managing Director, Head of Casualty & FINPRO, NA.
In the past, she served at Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) for over five years as Regional Head of Financial Lines, North America, and Regional Head of Management Liability Commercial, North America.
Coppola started her career in 1994, with Travelers as a Senior Underwriter for Bonds, and later went to serve as Underwriting Manager, Financial Products Division at The Hartford, and Vice President, Executive Assurance at Arch Insurance Group.
