QBE Insurance Group, an Australia-headquartered international general insurance and reinsurance company, has announced the completion of the sale of its Global Trade Credit and Surety operations to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the commercial insurance arm of the Swiss Re Group.
The transaction, originally announced in February 2026, transfers the unit’s operations across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK – representing approximately $200 million in annual revenues – to Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
This move will enable QBE to focus on optimising its portfolio, enabling the reallocation of capital and resources towards growth opportunities that align more closely with its long-term strategy.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions will be absorbing an established team of underwriting specialists into an expanding credit and surety practice.
Globally, this segment of the insurance market generates around $19 billion a year in premium. Swiss Re sees continued growth potential in the market, driven by heightened economic uncertainty, more complex supply chains, and rising demand for sophisticated risk transfer solutions.

QBE and Swiss Re Corporate Solutions have worked together to ensure a smooth transition for QBE employees, customers and brokers.
